There will be a $10 donation to hit this WOD. Money will go towards a post WOD “grill-off” between Fuj, Chris, and Kevin. Lots of great meats and veggies to snack on post WOD.
All proceeds will be donated to the Lone Survivor Foundation. Founded by Marcus Luttrell, the surviving Seal from Operation Redwing during which Murph was killed.
“Murph”
For time:
1 mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 mile Run
In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.
This workout was one of Mike’s favorites and he’d named it “Body Armor”. From here on it will be referred to as “Murph” in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.
Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you’ve got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.
Post time to comments.

Paying Respect Through Hard Work
What a beautiful day at Albany CrossFit! We had over 50 athletes do an absolutely amazing job with “Murph.” It was incredibly hot, but that didn’t stop many of our athletes from throwing on our new vests, or even putting on their combat gear and running in the blazing sun. An unbelievable honor to have both Mike Pick and Tom hit this in their full military uniforms.
Great to have Josh Murphy in town, coming in to hit “Murph” as well as celebrate with his brother Jason on both recieving Member of the Month and his 1-year CrossFit anniversary. After completing “Murph” Jason quickly stated his goal next year is to complete this WOD with a vest.
Shout out to Dona for finishing her first “Murph” ever and doing both 1-mile runs! Dona is on a tear ever since competing in last week’s Regionals. It’s exciting to see her really go at it with so much energy and enthusiasm.
The Post WOD Barbecue was mouth watering! Nothing is better than Fuji and Kevin’s meat! Great job to both of them on the grill-off. We will have to have more of their meat in our mouths before we can pick a winner!
Lots of rips today, make sure to take good care of your hands. Keep them clean and soak them in salt water. It burns like hell, but will definitely speed up recovery.
