Not much to say here. Those of you that have seen Mike "the Teacher" train know that he lets his workouts do the talking. Mike is calm, cool, and collected whether hitting "Fran" at 5:45am, "Nasty Girls" at 3:30pm, or WOD 3 of the Northeast Qualifiers in front of 500 screaming spectators.
Mike lives a normal life. Sure he tries to eat healthy, but he does not let that stop him from Friday nights at Friendly's with the family. He understands that being a CrossFitter is as much about what you do with the rest of your life as what you do inside the gym.
We have never seen Mike in a bad mood and he is rarely without his smile. Mike not only shocked Albany CrossFit but everyone at the Northeast Qualifiers, as he stood among shirtless men in his baggy shirt and Hawaiin shorts and quietly destroyed the WOD.
Being the last one to the pullup bars did not phase him, he just kept at his own pace, and his pace was good enough to not only catch up but beat most of the men in the Final Heat. Mike has been at Albany CrossFit for less than a year but his determination, attitude, and mental toughness were enough to lead him to a top 10 finish at the Northeast Qualifiers and earn him May 2009 Member of the Month!

"Somehow I can’t believe there are many heights that can’t be scaled by a man who knows the secret of making dreams come true. This special secret can be summarized in four C’s. They are: curiosity, confidence, courage, and constancy, and the greatest of these is confidence." –Walt Disney
