Matt Kull is a badass. He tore through "Candy" today in just under 25 minutes completely rx'd including chest to bar pullups, perfect pushups, and beautiful air squats. Matt will be leaving us August 1st but has become a complete firebreather during his time here and it is our pleasure to watch him destroy WODs.
Great to meet Ben from LA as he stopped in for a quick PR on the clean and jerk and a domination of "Candy"! He scored the second best time of the day, as he was narrowly beat by our bodyweight WOD wrecking machine Shye by 2 seconds with a 19:00.
Things have quieted down a bit with the Paleo challenge. How is everyone doing? We are constantly hearing, "I have lost weight", "I feel better", "I'm stronger", "That's a PR". Let's post some of these thoughts to comments. Give something for people to read and believe, so everyone stays motivated.
Oh yeah, not sure if the above title matters to anyone, but it was mentioned by Dave Walker, so we thought we would inform anyone thinking of playing dizzybat.

"I want to have a good body, but not as much as I want dessert.' –Jason Love
Paleo Challange wise – I’m doing okay. I noticed that I am able to recover faster and easier after any workout versus from before when I was on my (cheating very often paleo dairy diet). I don’t get as tired anymore during the workouts, means less rest time and more pushing through it. My strength in lifting has gone up tremendously, like very suddenly. I was able to do a 115 lb clean and jerk for my 1RM yesterday and feel like I could have gone heavier. That’s a 10-15 lb increase since last week. Of course I’m not sure if this is paleo related but it could be. Anyone else have a similar effect?
I wanna be a fire breather..
I’m doing the Paleo Challenge and have also noticed a difference in my strength. Yesterday I did a 100 lb clean and jerk which is a 20 lb increase from June 27th’s workout. I’ve also been able to lift more on my deadlifts and front squat but I’d have to look in my log for the exact numbers. I don’t really know if I’m losing weight b/c I don’t own a scale (thanks to my trauma from the Ground Round’s “penny a pound” Sunday dinner specials). I think I’m starting to look leaner. The most important thing to me is that I’ve had more energy and overall I feel so much stronger and healthier.
I have never eaten so much meat in my life and I know I can’t eat like this forever but I’ve learned a lot about my diet and what I put in my body.
Awesome!! Yeh I have no idea what my weight is, I think not owning a scale is the best way to go, ..”it’s not about what’s on the scale”. – Jay told me once =)
Thanks for the great posts everyone! Keep up the great work!
WHAT!? Matt’s leaving? =(
