What an absolutely beautiful day in so many aspects at Albany CrossFit.  A beautiful day to pay tribute to a great man.  A killer WOD that I'm sure had Stephen watching over from up above to make sure everyone finished in one piece.

Just truly amazing to be a part of.  Watching as after people would finish the workout, they would immediately hope right back in and encourage their fellow teammates to finish and do their best.

What was also so incredible was how throughout the day we were receiving texts, calls, e-mails, and posts from other affiliates around the world hitting "Stephen".  Further demonstrating the amazing community and family CrossFit has cultured.  Thanks to all affiliates that helped partake in this special day.

we are family amazing peeps

Below are some words taken from our message board to help express what a truly blessed day it was.

good human now that's a weighted run!

From Deja:

This was such an amazing Saturday. Great turn out and everyone gave it their all! I'm very proud to be a member of ACF. This is such a strong family I'm happy to be apart of and glad we all come together in rough times to support our fellow crossfitters. =) My thoughts and wishes go out to Joy, Stacey and Stephen!

hello ladies... take the batteries out of that shirt!

From George:

It was a fun morning and it was cool to honor steve and to work out with members who go to different classes, who you normally only see in passing.

why do you have 4 legs? mayhemsters

From Andrea:

This morning was amazing. Everyone helping everyone, doing extra rounds of everything. Just overall amazing. I know I am a better person for meeting/knowing people at ACF. When people ask me why I CrossFit, I will reflect on this Saturday and tell them that's why. It's much more than a gym or a good workout, it's a family.

one big happy family and this is what led to kelly being pregnant

From Javy:

Stephen, the man I could always count on to have a smile on your face. I think to myself how could you always be happy? My answer is that you were a man whose life was full of pleasure. The pleasure of being an honest, family man who was loved by his wife and two children, the joy of spending time with that family, the honor of being a hard-worker who never gave up and never gave in. To be honest, I find myself questioning the order of things. When great men such as yourself so full of the happiness and joy which are nothing less then the fruits of your labor, leave us physically far to early. I find myself questioning everything, and yet there is light beyond the darkness. Although you have gone on to another place, we are all better for having known you. Your happiness and obvious satisfaction with life was infectious, and motivating. I wish I had answers to why less deserving men of the privilege of life walk around today, while your family grieves over your loss, but I don't, and probably never will. But I do believe in something, that you loved your family, just as much as they loved you. You were a fierce friend, this much I am sure of. The world has lost an amazing man, a man to be respected and admired, but Joy, Stacey, Stephen and all those who hold you close have gained the greatest Guardian Angel anyone could dream of. I know you are watching over your family, and I pray for them as I pray for you. God Bless Stephen, Joy, Stacey & Stephen in this difficult and most trying of times.

Cassie's post workout shower we miss you

From Samantha:

This morning's workout was so amazing. I'm am so happy that i was able to be a part of it with such friendly and motivating athletes working out all around me! It means so much to me. And may God bless Stacey and Joy. It was such an honor to meet you guys. Your so friendly and welcoming. I've heard nothing but great things about you guys and the same goes with everyone else at ACF from Javy! I'm so proud to finally be apart of such a great community.

Thank you to everyone who came out to do this WOD. I was utterly amazed at the turnout, the support, and love that came from everyone. The way everyone stuck together to the bitter end, doing 3, 4, 5 rounds more to help others out. The community, the friendship, the love of almost 60 people was truly something I have never experienced.

Thank you Jason (and ACF) for your daily support the last two weeks, the phone calls, the emails, the txts, the posts and two awesome videos.

    I love ACF.

    Sincerely,
    Joy
