***All new 7am class begins this Monday***
Solid, Strong, Team player, dedicated, determined, pushes through pain, helpful, leader, what other words could you use to describe Rich Quinn? Rich doesn't seem like the kind of guy that does anything half-assed, and this couldn't be more evident then at Albany CrossFit. From Day One of the elements Rich was ready to bring it with all he had.
Coming in with encouragement from his Cousin "Mean" Gene, Rich knew what to expect out of CrossFit. Some pain, some fun, and a whole lot of hard work. One of his first elements classes Coach Matt broke out a ridiculous WOD, but Rich didn't whine, come to think of it, we don't remember ever hearing Rich whine…people take note! Rich has battled through past injuries, new tweaks and sprains, but comes in everyday and does his best, and like we said…no whining!
Rich is a team player in every sense of the word. He goes out of his way to help out anyone that is looking for guidance at Albany CrossFit, and rightfully so. He know his sh$t! Rich does his research on movements, nutrition, and everything else CrossFit. Look no further then the message board (which he helps to moderate) and you will see tons of super informative posts written by Rich.
The change Rich made to his physique in our Paleo in undeniable. He went from skinny/flabby, to ripped and diesel! These nutritional changes are going beyond Rich now as he encourages his family to eat a healthy Paleo Diet. In September, Rich busted his butt with Fight Gone Bad, raising over $1000 for Wounded Warriors and crushing the workout!
Rich is a tremendous asset to Albany CrossFit. Come to any class he is in and you will immediately understand why. Congratulation Rich on being our October 2009 Member of the Month!
So, all CrossFit parties get out of control. I guess that is what you get when you mix a bunch of fit, young, good looking folks! Great Halloween party, awesome costumes, burpees, and super time! Shout out to Gene and Fuji for hosting!
From Sunday Mornin' Viv:
Great turn-out for Sunday's class: Buzz, Amir, Derek, Melissa, Kim, Kia, Anne, Donna, Jeannie, and Sue all showed up for I Love My Bar! It's a simple WOD: 100 Hang Squat Cleans, 100 Push Press, 100 Overhead Squats, 100 Thrusters and 100 Back Squats with extra points it you could follow it up with 100 Air Squats! Amir and Derek challenged each other to do it with 65lbs! Buzz and Kia hit it with the 45lb bar. Some folks were surprised when they found out that they had to complete all 100 reps of each lift before moving onto the next – yikes! Everybody did great and all finished under 55 minutes! Shout out to Melissa, Kim and Kia for keeping great form and to all my Sunday peeps for coming in!

"Then, without realizing it, you try to improve yourself at the start of each new day; of course, you achieve quite a lot in the course of time. Anyone can do this, it costs nothing and is certainly very helpful. Whoever doesn't know it must learn and find by experience that a quiet conscience makes one strong." –Anne Frank
