Save your Sunday Burpees…we are hitting 100 Burpees on Monday!
Saturday Musing by Jess Lasky:
By the small sizes of today's classes, I think the WOD might have scared some people away. But 50 minutes of pull ups, push ups, sit ups, squats, and burpees didn't keep the firebreathers away. We had Shannon and Mary come to the 9am class and partner together, Shannon has been on a hiatus for a few weeks but you definitely couldn't tell! Mary did a great job improving her form on push ups and squats.
The 10am ladies class killed it. We had Andrea and Erin with the high score of the day with 1346!! They were pumping right through those burpees at the end, very impressive. Shontell and Angie, and Aline and Anne did a great job, pushing though with solid scores in the 900's.
For the 11am, Kia and her sister, Fuji and Rich and Adrianne and myself went after it and Viv helped coach us through. Everyone did great – big shout out to Kia's sister who came in for her first WOD today, she was an animal and she was still able to walk out when she left! Great job today everyone.
Shout out to Jess for holding it down at our Saturday Morning Classes!
Questions of the Day:
Alcohol: What's its place in the CrossFit life? Not part of a serious athlete's diet? Or something that you can still manage if you're Paleo or Zone or just plain fun?

Alcohol does have it’s place in a crossfitters life. Used in moderation, it can relax muscles and help with recovery. Alcohol has a dehydrating effect, so, compensate with 8 oz of water for every ounce of alcohol. Wine is made from grapes which are palso. Since fruit should be consumed in moderation, so then should wine. Beer should be considered a cheat food, and is useful combined with other cheat foods, i.e. buffalo wings, pizza, etc…Avoid alcohol immediately before, or during a WOD. The exception is that one may break out into spontaneous burpees after consuming moderate amounts of alcohol. If you are entering a competition, avoid alcohol the day before the event. Crossfit is designed to enhance your life. It is not designed to prevent you from enjoying it. Crossfitters are intelligent. Drink wisely. Don’t drink and drive, and don’t do “Fran”, and immediately get behind the wheel.
