Our newest Member of the Month is a fire-breathing beast of a machine. Not all of us are fortunate enough to have work schedules that allow for daily CrossFit attendance. For most this would be an enormous challenge. Yet somehow Kia manages to eat right while traveling out-of-state 4 days a week and then still has the dedication to come in the remaining 3 days and give it her all. Kia brings energy and vitality to every class, always smiling, willing to encourage others, cheer them on, and lend a hand. She is an extraordinary athlete, friend, and a huge asset to our incredible community. She brings integrity, friendship, determination and humility to every WOD she hits.
Kia unassumingly enters Albany CrossFit, she grabs pvc and warms up, chats here and there with her CrossFit brothers and sisters. She works on her suck list; practicing chest to bar pull-ups, HSPU, and rings dips. In the blink of an eye she is banging out 15 chest to bar Pull-ups, multiple HSPU, and countless ring dips. She constantly leaves us all wide-eyed and open-mouthed. There is no secret. She listens to her coaches, takes the suggestions, and does what she is told! She sleeps, she eats, she trains, she rests and so an athlete is discovered!
On the door it says, "leave your ego" and KIa does it every time she steps into Albany CrossFit! Kia is an extraordinary athlete, friend, and a we are proud to welcome here as March 2010's Member of the Month.
