I’ve been back at Albany CrossFit for a month now, let’s recap:
I proudly sing the praises of Albany Crossfit on the streets, amongst family, and on my radio show. I approached Jay a year and a half ago and told him to buy advertising on Fly 92.3 so I could get the word out to my listeners… who mean more to me than almost anyone. There’s nothing like the feeling of having fellow CrossFitters cheer you on… BY NAME, when you’re nearing the end of a WOD. Even if I appear to be too tired to hear you, trust me I do!
Not one “C’mon B Codes” ever goes unnoticed. It’s my sugar free Red Bull when I’m outta wings.
Speaking of my Sugar Free Red Bulls…sorry, but I NEED them to give me a jolt before a workout. Not every time, but most of it… I’m 38, I need an edge. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! :)
Thanks to Guy Jubert who ran the last 200 meters of the Lumberjack 200 with me, long after he was done and I was D E A D. I believe that CrossFitters are/were the kind of athletes that you LOVED playing with in High School, College etc. Gives me chills thinking about…
Sometimes it’s hard to explain why Crossfit is different from other gyms. Yes it’s community… yes the results speak for themselves… yes it’s addictive. Take a look at someone’s facebook who “CrossFits.” Their profile pic is usually of them doing a back squat, or running around the parking lot, or of their blistered hands. Ever see one friend or family member of yours make a Golds Gym photo their profile pic? Just saying….
Steve’s Paleo Krunch cereal is addictive. I just wish Jay wouldn’t tell us EVERY single time “to be careful, that there are 5 servings in there.” Because of that, I really have no excuse to open in up, pour in the almond milk and eat the whole damn thing. And I want to do that every time….
A month ago I was terrified to take my “before pic” (see earlier posts). Yesterday, I actually asked Jay to take my one month pic so that we can track progress. He said that he definitely noticed a difference… and that I was less “doughy” than before. He was trying to be nice… looking at that pic, I had more dough than the Chicago Classic deep dish at UNO’s.

Best post yet, Cody! Keep it up, and keep us posted! As for the Red Bull – Dude, what’s wrong with Monster or Rock Star? They come in “diet” also.
