      • Albany CrossFit is a collective of dedicated trainers brought together by the belief in the Foundations of CrossFit. The stimulus provided is always varied and the results are dramatic. The atmosphere is one of support and camaraderie to anyone willing to put in the work.

        CrossFit is an extremely efficient and effective way to get into world-class shape.

        CrossFit workouts are functional, varied and intense. They also scale to any ability level--our members range from elite athletes to eighty-something grandmothers--so whatever shape you're starting from, you'll be able to jump right in.
    • What is a Gym?
      • “Gym” is a nickname for gymnasium, which is an athletic facility equipped for sports or physical training. How many gyms today are truly equipped for sports and physical training? Many contemporary designs offer equipment for use. Some supply supervision from trainers. But do these environments truly live up to the original definition?

        No, they do not. Like much of our culture, crucial foundations have been lost to convenience. Ironically, this is to our detriment. That’s where Albany CrossFit breaks from the pack. We offer an environment conducive to the original construction. We are a gym, in the sense that we provide a place to train for something greater. Our goal is not to clock hours on treadmills or elliptical machines, going nowhere. Rather we strive to prepare our clients for the greatest physical challenge of all—Life.

        Therefore, come to our gym and be challenged and rewarded. We are equipped and prepared for you. Your training begins…now.

Events Calendar

CFT!  Saturday, June 20th 10am.  This will run the same way it has the last few times.  One 10am class, be early warmed up ready to hit your best squat, press, and deadlift.  We will break up into 4-5 racks based on how many athletes are competing.  Read more about it.  As always name and first attempts on the back wall.  Sign-up before Thursday, June 18th.

"Laskyfest" Saturday, June 21st, 2pm - late night.  Expect live music, drunken WODs, and all the Laskys!

The Doctors are leaving...going away party.  We will all meet out  on Wednesday, June 24th to say goodbye to Dr. Josh, Yvonne, Andy, Angie, Noah, and Kraemer.  Dona has recommend Creo in Stuyvesant Plaza, check them out here.

"Every Second Counts" screening and potluck.  Sunday June 28th (notice date change due to father's day).  We will get together for an early evening dinner and then watch the brand-new movie "Every Second Counts."  We will hold this at the bar of the Court Club unless anyone wants to volunteer their home and big screen TV.

Who's up for a July 4th Hike?  We would love to get some hikes going, anyone have some ideas?

We are working on the suburbanathlon, tentative date, Saturday August 8th, 2009.

Matt Hehn's Burpee Challenge

Beginning Friday at 9am, Matt will complete 3 burpees per minute for 24 straight hours.  He will get the last 5 minutes of every hour off with the exception of the final hour.  If he completes this challenge he will have done 4,140 burpees!

He is going to need tons of support.  We will be looking for athletes to complete some hours of burpees with Matt as well as cheer him on, bring him food and water, and keep him awake.

We will be looking to help the local charity "Homeward Bound" where Marley was adopted from.  More details will continued to be announced.
